Independence Day is fast approaching,and folks in and around Bensalem will be celebrating July 4 with fireworks, festivals, and parades.
Bensalem Dance Party
A Bob Kelly’s Dance Partyfeaturing DJ Eric Bartello will take place at Eddington House in Bensalem on July 4. TV personality Bob Kelly is known for collecting toys for young patients at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Event attendees can contribute pairs of kids’ pajamas. The event begins at5 p.m., and guests can enjoy drinks, dancing, and music.
A visit to Parx Casino in Bensalem before the dance party starts is a fun way to spend some time. You can also play at an online casino in Pennsylvania if you’d rather not visit a physical casino.
Quakertown Community Day and Fireworks
The Quakertown Community Day will feature the annual car show. Other attractions include bands, games, and firemen water battles. The car show awards begin at 1 pm. There will also be a fireworks show that starts at dusk.
Styer Orchard
From 4 pm to 9 pm on July 4, visitors to Styer Orchard can enjoy a DJ, face painting, games, a parade, and more. The Men of Harmony Choir will be performing at the event.
Fonthill Castle
One of the best upcoming events is the old-fashioned July 4 celebration at Fonthill Castle in Doylestown. It will take place from noon to 4 pm. Attendees can enjoy food, games, and live music from The Delaware Valley Saxophone Quartet, Lolly Hopwood, and the Ring the Rafters Quartet.
Children will be able to participate in a decorated bike parade that starts at 12:30 pm and bike down the tree-lined driveway of the historic site. There will also be sack races, tug-of-war, wheelbarrow races, and food trucks.
Peddler’s Village
Peddler’s Village in Lahaska holds an annual event that runs for four days starting on July 4. The BBQ Bash features family activities, live music, lawn games, pony rides, and much more. There is also indoor and outdoor restaurant dining.
Southampton Days Country Fair
A baby parade will take place at 9 am, and the main parade will follow at 9.30 am. The fairgrounds will close from noon to 6 pm. When they reopen, they will feature rides and performances. The National Anthem and God Bless America will be sung before the fireworks at 9.30 pm. A bus service will be available for the transportation of fair-goers from some of the shopping centers in the area.
The July 4 parade is just one of many events during the five days of the annual Country Fair. If you work remotely, consider staying for the full five days of the fair. In the future of travel, combining it with work can lead to longer stays at destinations.
Washington Crossing Historic Park
At the park in Upper Makefield, Living History Day will celebrate the history around Independence Day. Historians will read from the Declaration of Independence and demonstrate crafts. There will be a military encampment, and you can buy pizzas from Harvest Pizza or refreshments from Rita’s Water Ice. The event will run from noon to 4 pm, and pre-registration is recommended.
Sesame Place
The amusement park in Middletown Township will have a fireworks show at 9 pm. You can enjoy the Cookie Monster, Elmo, and other well-known characters as the sky is painted red, green, and blue from inside the park.
Glenside
At 10 am, a Children’s Morning Program will take place at Renninger Memorial Park. A parade will take place at 4 pm on the 1.5-mile stretch through Glenside. After dark, a spectacular fireworks event will be held at Abington Junior and Senior High Schools.
